Meet The Vessels and Crew
Flagship
Koinonia
Koinonia means brotherly fellowship and friendship in Greek, and this ship was built to build stronger bonds between friends.
This 48 passenger enclosed cabin ship has table seating inside for 32, and deck seating for 16. Known as one of the smoothest hull designs ever made, this ship will allow you to enjoy the sights.
The unique aspect of the Koinonia versus other charter ships is that the boat was designed to allow every passenger to ride in comfort. All of your guests will enjoy full window views, table seating, comfortable chairs, and our famously smooth ride through the islands.
Daily Runner
Paraclete
A true help to our passengers across the islands, the Paraclete lives up to the meaning of its name in Greek: Advocate and Helper.
Our 32 passenger ship has room for 24 passengers inside, with deck seating for 8 on the aft deck. This is our daily scheduled run ship, but is also available for chartered trips and tours.
Paraclete is a safe and smooth ride for your family, your furry friends, gear, and supplies. The Paraclete crew works tirelessly to make sure you are comfortable, to help you with loading and off-loading, and to keep the ship clean and clear. This is the classy way to ride!
Owner Operators
Kevin and Tami Fegert
Residents of Blakely Island, with Kevin's family roots running deep there, Tami and Kevin endeavor to meet their clients' needs, and love seeing the wonder and excitement of both first time and ole' regular passengers.
Kevin and Tami have four grown children, a few grandchildren, and a few fur babies. With four generations of their own extended family regularly using Paraclete, they are mindful of the needs of passengers (and their pets) of all ages.
Paraclete Captain
Captain Kevin
Captain Kevin is well known among San Juan Sailers as a cool head even in difficult situations. He is an expert captain and a keen wildlife spotter.
Kevin spent his early years as an employee with Hewlitt-Packard and as a navigator with the Idaho National Guard, and now he is enjoying his dream job as a ship captain in his retirement years.
Paraclete and Koinonia Captain
Captain Chris
Captain Chris hails from the Midwest, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know his way around on the water. Chris grew up on boats, and his dad was a waterman and captain also.
Chris spent over 15 years in Australia and Hawai'i captaining commercial boats and ships before coming to the Northwest to continue his water-based career. But he also excels on land and is fairly capable at riding his bike home to Anacortes after a long day at sea.
Paraclete and Koinonia Captain
Captain Andrew
Captain Andrew's smile is contagious, and he always is excited and ecstatic to be out on the ocean. Andrew is a friend to all people and to the furry friends who frequently join our sailings. Captain Andrew is a calm and sure footed captain, and he always seems to be delighted by the journey, no matter the weather nor the time of year.
Captain Andrew is also a great wildlife spotter, and he has loved getting to know the San Juan's wildlife through his frequent trips across the water.
